A huge lump of chocolate
Melting inside my mouth
Dissolving very slowly
Soon to reach my arteries
And veins
To find its way
To my heart
And then clog it
It was death in the future
But it was irresistible
It was a death that did not matter
In a future that wasn't here yet

What was here was the chunk
Of the bittersweet
Brown elixir
That melted very slowly

It was the present
It made me happy

It was the splendid loss of innocence
That simply had to be done
Because it was so tempting
